Whatever the size, shape and location of your garden, planning and good garden design are fundamental to how it is used, viewed and enjoyed.

A free initial visit is available to discuss your requirements and to consider costs and the potential budget. We work with budgets and gardens of all sizes. All fees and costs are agreed in advance of the design work commencing. We pride ourselves on clarity and transparency.

WaterLily Landscapes pride ourselves on the quality of the craftsmanship of our work, boasting 15 years experience.  Most of our work comes by personal recommendation, a track record which we value greatly and are very proud of.

Our comprehensive service provides a design service prior to starting the landscaping work, to transform your garden so that it fulfills your requirements, lifestyle and is within your budget.

We will look into how to utilise the space in the garden to create design shapes that link the entire garden together in a way that makes it look and feel larger and more interesting.

There will be 4 steps to your Project

Step 1 – Free one hour consultation, followed by a garden survey

This will be arranged after you contact us so we can meet you. The initial consultation allows us to see your garden in order to review its existing qualities, how you use the garden or intend to use it, and discuss your wish list and project. It allows us to exchange ideas, to find out what sort of materials and type of garden you like.

We will discuss your budget. We will take approximate measurements of your garden at this stage.

From the initial visit we will write a proposal letter and a client brief of all the points raised will be sent. This will outline the garden design costs and the budget for the build of the garden.

Step 2 -Design

If you choose to work with us on the design for your garden the next step will be to come and take accurate measurements.

We will produce sketch work of the main structures, border shapes and their positions, patio / decks and any major features. It is at that stage that we can run through further ideas, work with you to make alterations to make sure you are delighted with your finished design.

We will then show you an amended design. If you are then happy with that stage of the design we will enter in a contract to complete your garden.

Step 3 – Hard Landscaping

We will build a safe and secure garden, abiding with construction techniques to British Standard ensuring your project is built correctly, structurally and technically sound and visually pleasing.

We take care of all the construction, including the site clearing with our cutting edge equipment and removal of all hardcore.

Step 4 – Soft Landscaping

Should you wish to, we can also offer a planting plan, planting for year round interest, to suit your garden aspect, placing each individual shrub, tree and herbaceous plant in their border position. This saves you considerable money by ensuring that you get plants that are suited to your garden condition (soil and aspect) and style of garden.

We pay particular attention to provide you with the ‘right’ mixture of evergreens so that your garden looks good all year round, and plants for seasonal interest.

We also take into consideration conditions for wildlife, and in particular bees and birds and ensure we use some native plants which benefit the native wildlife and also provide you with maintenance guides to help with aftercare.

A Planting service is also available, using the approved planting plan, organising plant selection, collection and delivery to your house. We have access to organically grown herbs and plants specifically grown for bees, which is rarely available to the public as well as nurseries which offer quality plants at a competitive price, saving you considerable money.

Should you wish to plant yourself, all plants will be placed in their pot in their final position following the planting plan.

Wherever possible we recycle waste materials. This enables us to avoid using landfill. We also use a free draining sub-base for all front gardens meeting with new government guidelines, which helps with water draining back into the soil.
